Navy SEAL Hudson River Swim and Run
On August 8, 2020 a team of U.S. Navy SEALs will be joined by fellow veterans and military supporters swim across the Hudson River to honor our military veterans, their families, and all of those who died during 9/11 and the wars that followed that fateful day.
Along the route, the SEALs stop at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island to perform 100 push ups in honor of America's liberties, and 22 pull ups in recognition of 22 veterans who commit suicide every day. The event concludes in lower Manhattan to honor the victims of 9/11 and all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country in the wars that followed.

Helping those affected by COVID-19 and more
This year, funds raised during the event go to benefit GI Go Fund efforts in:
- COVID-19 Pandemic: Military personnel, veterans called back into service, and emergency first responders have been serving with doctors and nurses during the COVID-19 Pandemic. They have been supporting test centers, setting up field hospitals, serving on the USNS Comfort and Mercy, delivering food and supplies to people in need, and more. Thousands of these brave men and women have since been stricken with the virus, and some have tragically lost their lives. Funds will go to support our mission as we assist these heroes and their loved ones.
- Ending veteran homelessness: There are currently over 4,000 homeless veterans in the United States, including over 800 in the New York/New Jersey area. Many more are expected in the coming months due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Your support will help our mission to support these veterans during these difficult times.
- Job training and entrepreneurial support: We have developed the first and only Veteran Small Business Incubator in Newark, NJ for veteran entrepreneurs to grow their business. In conjunction with our Incubator, GI Go Fund has developed an incredible space that utilizes state-of-the-art technology. Funds will go to provide veterans with these services to ensure that they are able to find work in the aftermath of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Be a Part of the Swim!
Think you have what it takes to go swimming with the SEALs?
Sign up to participate in one of the tryouts we will be hosting in the coming months. If you qualify, you can join the SEALs on August 8 and swim across the Hudson River to raise support for the nation's veterans!
Every little bit helps this year, and getting involved can make a huge difference for our military families. We raised over $200,000 in our first year alone with only 35 SEALs participating. With your help, we will far surpass that number and make a lasting impact on the lives of our servicemembers and their loved ones forever!
