Bronx Community Board 10 represents the neighborhoods of City Island, Co-op City, Throggs Neck, Westchester Square and Zerega. Bronx Community Board 10 is a New York City agency established to identify the needs of their community and advocate through city government to meet those requirements. In addition, they are empowered through the New York City Charter to make advisory decisions on land use, budgets, public policy and to monitor city services. Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate, under supervision of the District Manager, with some latitude for independent decision and action, will assist in addressing the community needs, support the community boards district office and board members, and will be responsible for various administrative tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:- Review invoices and input and/or approve purchase orders and entries in the city Financial Management System (FMS) for further approval and assist in maintaining agency financial records - Provide administrative and clerical support including, but not limited to, filing, scheduling, as well as answering and directing calls, drafting letters, and posting public notices- Documenting correspondence and constituent complaints with city and state agencies- Drafting letters on behalf of the Bronx Community Board 10- Maintaining and updating the Bronx Community Board 10s website and social media platforms, which includes creating flyers, emails, and posts- Assisting with outreach to community board members and constituents- Assisting with planning community meetings- Attend monthly evening community board meetings and committee meetingsTo Apply: Please email your resume to Bx10@cb.nyc.gov **Resumes that are not submitted to this email may not be considered. Requirements
Qualification Requirements 1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or 2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
