A Message to our Military Members/Families on the Killing of Osama Bin Laden

On this great and momentous day for the United States, The GI Go Fund would like to thank the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families for all of their hard work and sacrifice over these long ten years to make this day a reality:

To the over 6,000 men and women of the military who have lost their lives after 9/11 in pursuit of Bin Laden and the terrorists who wish to destroy our country,

To the 45,000 soldiers who were injured in battle as they fought evil halfway around the world,

To the families of soldiers who waited nervously at home every day while their loved ones served valiantly halfway around the world,

To the mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, friends and neighbors, who all mourned the loss of a close loved one while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan,

To the soldier who returned home from a long tour of combat, only to be called back to war again…and again,

To the soldier who returned home from multiple deployments only to face eviction, unemployment, divorce, mounting bills, and the everyday struggle of providing for a family with limited funds,

To the veteran who faced such hardship upon returning that they were left with no choice but to live homeless on the streets, forced to beg for food and money from the people they served to protect,

To all of our current and former members of the military, this is your day!

On behalf of a grateful nation, we thank you for everything you have done to bring Osama bin Laden to justice, and give our country a decisive victory in our efforts against terrorism.
