G.I. Go and the City of Newark Help Send 80 Holiday Care Packages Overseas

On display were nearly 80 care packages being sent to troops stationed in Iraq. The boxes contain food ranging from chips to beef jerky, cookies to granola bars, and essential toiletries, ranging from baby wipes to hand sanitizers.

The Stand Down is an event held to give veterans without home essential items to help improve their livelihood, as well as provide opportunities for them to receive assistance from the VA. The event has been an annual tradition for over 20 years, with the Stand Down Committee having worked tirelessly over these years to help get veterans off the streets.
