Former New York Giants superstar and Current NBC commentator Tiki Barber personally autographed footballs and copies of his autobiography Tiki: My Life and the Game Beyond.

At an event in Bridgewater, NJ, Barber told members of The GI Go Fund that he appreciated the work the organization has accomplished and wished them further success in this “most important mission”.

“People often look at football players and see us as heroes. I personally have never felt comfortable with that. I always felt that the only heroes in this country are the ones who fight and die for it,” said Barber.

Barber is well-known for his community work as much as his football or television success. Along with his close work with countless charities and causes, he is on the board of the Fresh Air Fund, an organization helping inner city youth which held a special “Salute to American Heroes” event this past June.

“Barber is no stranger to helping our troops, and these donations are just another example of his support of our brave men and women,” said GI Go Vice President Alexander Manis.

The autographed items will be given away to soldiers at future events. The GI Go Fund thanks Barber for his support.
