GI Go Fund Awarded $4,000 by OceanFirst Foundation through their Home Runs for Heroes fundraiser with Lakewood BlueClaws
Organization has been recipient of this program since 2015, having received $7,000 for every home run a BlueClaw player hits in a designated inning
GI Go Fund was honored to once again be a recipient of the Home Runs for Heroes program, a fundraising program with the Lakewood BlueClaws and OceanFirst Foundation that provides a financial donation to a local military-based charity each time a BlueClaws player hits a home run at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood.
Each charity is paired with one inning of the game. Each time a player hits a home run, a charity is awarded $1,000 by OceanFirst Foundation. GI Go Fund received $4,000 from the program for the home runs that were hit in its designated inning, the 4th, by BlueClaw players during the season.
2017 is the ninth year of the program which, through 2016, raised $217,000 for charities that serve veterans and members of the United States military during times of need. GI Go Fund has been a participant in this program since 2015, having received $7,000 during that time.
