GI Go Fund Hosts Warrior Walk and 5K Race at Liberty State Park
Nearly 150 supporters joined together at Liberty State Park to support GI Go Fund and the Military Veterans they serve
(Jersey City, NJ) – Walkers and racers enjoyed a terrific day of supporting our veterans as they joined GI Go Fund at Liberty State Park to participate in their 2017 Warrior Walk and 5K Race.
Nearly 150 military supporters turned out to the park to support a worthy cause and enjoy a fun day of walking and running at the scenic Jersey City Park, taking each step against the backdrop of New York City and the Statue of Liberty.
“What an incredible turnout for our veterans,” said GI Go Executive Director Jack Fanous. “We are so grateful to all the runners and walkers who came out to support our veterans and their loved ones. Everyone was so thrilled to be part of this event, and we could not have asked for a better setting for our Warrior Walk than this great park in Jersey City and its incredible view."
"More importantly, though, thanks to the great people at Panasonic, PSEG, Kearney Bank, Beasley Media, and all of the other runners and walkers that came out, we will be able to help more veterans and their loved ones with finding success.
The event was able to raise thousands of dollars to help military veterans and their loved ones. Proceeds from this event will go to help GI Go Fund in their efforts to help military veterans get care for their injuries, secure employment to provide for their loved ones, and find a place to call home.
All walkers and racers received a t-shirt and gift bags for participating in the event. Special thanks go out to Panasonic, PSEG, Kearny Bank, Beasley Media, Team RWB and all of the other supporters and participants for making this event a success.
