PSE&G, Prudential, the City of Newark, and The GI Go Fund hold Veterans Day Ceremonies in Newark to Honor Veterans
At the events, current and former members of the military raised the American Flag in dedication to every person who has ever served this nation
NEWARK, NJ - PSE&G and Prudential Financial, in connection with The GI Go Fund, held Veterans Day events in the City of Newark to honor the over 20 million men and women across the country who once served in uniform.
At the events, current and former members of the military raised the American Flag in dedication to every person who has ever served this nation. In addition, leaders from all three organizations discussed what we must do to honor veterans in New Jersey and across the nation.
“I am deeply encouraged with the support shown today but our veterans vowed to defend the flag of the United States of America, not just the fabric but what that flag represents, the people of the United States of America,” said GI Go Fund Executive Director Jack Fanous as he addressed the crowd at the PSE&G ceremony. “That sacrifice and dedication to us deserves more than just one day. I hope that tomorrow, November 12th, and every other day of the year, will continue to be Veterans Day.”
PSE&G held its ceremony at its corporate headquarters in the city, while Prudential conducted its flag-raising event at Military Park in Newark.
“We had a great event here,” said former Marine Sgt. Joe Pace, a current PSE&G employee who raised the flag at the PSE&G ceremony. “It was nice to see everyone from the company and even some people from the streets, come and honor us veterans this way. I’m really happy to see so many people here who care about veterans. It’s something that is very assuring to see on a day like today.”
All who participated in the event were proud to show their love and support for veterans, and hope that everyone in the country displays the same feelings towards our former soldiers on this day.
