What is the GI Go Fund Warrior Walk and 5k Race?
The Warrior Walk and 5k Race consists of a one-mile fun walk or a qualifying 5k fun run that welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and of all ages. It is a one-day event of fun and community where hundreds of military and veteran supporters come together to raise funds and awareness for our efforts in serving the veteran community.
How do I register?
To register online, go to www.gigo.org/warriorwalk and select the “Get Started” link at the top. You can then choose to create your own Team Page, join an existing Team Page, or sign up as an Individual.
You can also register on the day of the walk at our on-site registration table. Registration opens at 8:00am.
Where is the start line? Where do I park?
All participants will gather and begin the event at the North Cove parking lot, which is located at the end of Audrey Zapp Dr. That location shall serve as the start and finish line for the event.
What time is the event?
The Walk and Race begins at 9am. Registration opens at 8am.
How much is registration?
There is a $25 fee for all participants. Participants can then raise funds to support the GI Go Fund and its mission of helping veterans. All participants who register online are eligible to receive an official Warrior Walk event T-shirt on the day of the event, however participants who register at the event may not be guaranteed a shirt.
Do I need to register my children for the walk?
Children who are under 18 should register and have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian in order to participate. If you would like to fundraise and ask for donations in order for your child to receive a shirt, registration is encouraged. Kids’ sizes are available in limited quantities.
What if my donors need a receipt?
When a donor gives online, they will receive a thank you letter that can be used as a receipt. All other acknowledgment letters will be mailed after the event. If you donated to a Warrior Walk event and you didn’t receive a thank you letter, please contact us.
What happens if it rains?
The Warrior Walk and 5k Race is held rain or shine unless the event of a natural weather emergency occurs. Please stay tuned to your local weather channel or if you are unsure, you can call us for more information at 866.389.4446
Where do the funds from the Walk go?
Your gift will help GI Go Fund support essential programs and services helping veterans within the community. GI Go Fund is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
How do I donate?
All participants can make their donations online utilizing our Warrior Walk Team Page. We strongly encourage all donations to be made online. However, if you wish to contribute a different way, there are several easy ways to donate:

What happens to the donations if I can no longer participate in the event?
Refunds are made available upon donor request, but all donations go to support GI Go Fund’s mission whether the walker participates or not.
Are donations tax deductible?
All donations are tax deductible in the same calendar year your donation was processed to the extent allowed by law. Please work with your tax professional to determine what deductions you are eligible for.
Is this a competitive event?
The event includes a Walk and a 5k Race. The race is competitive, as all racers will be timed and can be used to qualify for other races. However, the Walk is noncompetitive. It’s an all-ages, all-ability, family-friendly walk event to raise awareness and funds for our mission.
Team Page Information
What is a Team page?
A Team Page is a fundraising page that you create on our site for yourself or on behalf of your company as an online fundraising tool for Walk participants. Your team page is where friends, family, and/or co-workers should go when they want to sponsor you in a Walk event. Set a goal for fundraising and encourage everyone to support. All donations can be made online directly to your team page, and their contributions will help you towards your stated goal.
We encourage you to personalize your page with personal photos and stories – it will be much more interesting for your visitors when they see your passion!
Will I be able to see who has donated to my Team Page?
All donations will be posted directly onto the Team Page. Donor names will accompany their donation unless the donor chooses to remain anonymous.
I forgot my Username and Password.
Go to gigo.org/warriorwalk, click the “Login” button next to the map. Below the entry fields for your username and password, click “Forgot Username and/or Password?”

How can I lead donors to my Team Page for my walk?
When you set up your Team Page, you will first be taken to the administrative Team Page where you can make edits and customize the page however you like. From there, you can click the “View Public Version” button on the right-hand side. You will be taken to the public Team Page that everyone sees. On that page, you will find a “Share” button on the right. From there, you can select to share the page through several different ways, including email, Facebook, Twitter and more.
