Honoring A Legend - LtCol Justin Constantine

This event is honoring the one year passing of LtCol Justin Constantine, who passed away May 5th, 2022.

Justin's life story was full of incredible achievements. While serving in Iraq in 2006, Justin was shot in the head by a sniper and presumed dead on the battlefield. Amazingly, he lived through his injuries and went on to become a leading voice for American veterans and all disadvantaged people who are having trouble finding work or taking care of their mental health.

Among Justin’s many accomplishments were serving as a Board Member at Wounded Warrior Project, Ted Talk alum, Author of two books on veteran employment, serving as SHRM’s Leading Voice on Veteran Hiring, and being the Chief Business Development Officer at JobPaths.

When Justin returned home from his combat, he was left to recover from both his physical wounds and his PTSD. When looking for ways to help him recover, one recovery method was golf. Despite having never played before, and needing to wear an eyepatch while playing to cover his glass eye, he immediately fell in love with the game. He would go on to play every day, spending hours a day practicing his swing until perfection. Before long, he was a scratch golfer. Soon after, he joined President George W. Bush and Laura Bush on the golf course in 2013 and 2014 as a member of Team 43, an adapted sports program run by the Military Service Initiative of the George W. Bush Institute. His involvement in Team 43 was also featured in Golf Digest. He also received custom-made Ping-brand clubs and his name is inscribed on them, given to him early on in his road to recovery. He also participated in several other golf outings, including Tee It Up For The Troops and the AITEC annual outing.

Justin used golf to help him recover from his mental wounds, and it was key to his success in life. We honor him and his favorite game by hosting this event to help others struggling with mental health issues.
