Boilermaker Apprenticeship Applications
Boilermakers are the craftsmen and women who help build and power North America. We’re welders and riggers who keep the lights on in your home and produce the fuels that move the nation into the future.
Boilermakers are highly skilled tradespeople who construct, install, maintain, and repair boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other heavy-duty steel structures used in power plants, refineries, factories, and ships. Their work is critical to the safe and efficient operation of industrial systems that rely on high-pressure steam and fluid transfer.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assemble, install, and repair boilers, tanks, and closed vats using welding, riveting, and other metalworking techniques.
-Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan layouts and assembly procedures.
-Cut, shape, and align metal components using torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and power tools.
-Perform rigorous quality control tests, including pressure tests and inspections, to ensure structural integrity and safety compliance.
-Work in confined spaces, at heights, and in challenging environments while adhering strictly to safety regulations.
Typical Work Environments:
-Power generation facilities
-Refineries and chemical plants
-Shipyards
-Manufacturing plants
