Food Service Worker - Patrick Space Force Base Dining


MISSION:

The mission of BAC is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for assuring assigned job tasks are completed within contract time frames and quality standards.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.

  • Clean equipment in kitchen and dining area
    • Clean dining tables, wash dishes, pots, pans, coffee urns, glasses, and flatware.
    • Sweep, mop, and polish floors.
    • Dispose of food waste and trash.
  • Assist in unloading supply trucks and storing supplies.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No minimum experience required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a background screening for access to the work areas.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must have or be able to obtain Food Handlers Certificate within 3 months of date of hire.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6 months of Food Service experience

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to work harmoniously in a team environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Work at a reasonable pace for the job duties assigned and physical ability .
  • Good communication skills (e.g., able to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints).
  • Able to follow basic instructions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to identify issues or problems, evaluate and draw valid conclusions.
  • Attentive to detail for quality performance.

TRAVEL

No travel is expected for this position.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE)

  • Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks.
  • Prolonged standing and walking.
  • Lifting/moving up to 40 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate computerized POS system and handle cash.
  • These requirements can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks are regularly performed inside with little chance for exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, heat, rain, fumes). Occasional, short-term exposure to cold while working in walk in refrigerator.

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Some tasks require manual dexterity.

Availability: Full time days- Monday, Thursday, & Friday 7am-3pm, Tuesday & Wednesday 10am-3pm, once a month must work Reserve weekend, a Saturday or Sunday

Salary: 17.75/HR
